Biography
Melissa Bull joined the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice in 2005. She began teaching criminology, sociology and policy related subjects in the Law and Arts programs at the University of New England in 1996. She has taught in multidisciplinary programs at the University of Queensland and Queensland University of Technology. She began her career in 1990, working as a research officer at the Australian Institute of Criminology in Canberra.
Melissa’s research interests include illicit drug regulation, justice responses for drug related offenders, punishment practices and community policing culturally and linguistically diverse communities. She has a strong interest in social and political theory, and in particular, the relationship between theory, policy and practice in the governance of crime.
