Biography
Shu Kay (Angus) Ng is Senior Lecturer in Biostatistics at the School of Medicine, Griffith University. After receiving his PhD degree in statistics from the University of Queensland in 1999, he has worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Mathematics, University of Queensland. In 2003, he was awarded an Australian Postdoctoral (APD) Fellowship by the ARC. His research interests include statistical modelling, pattern recognition, machine learning, biostatistics, image analysis, and survival analysis.
He has published more than 50 research articles and book chapters. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation. His current ARC funded research projects (ARC Discovery Project Grants) are in the fields of high-dimensional clustering and multivariate analysis of microarray gene-expression data with applications to cancer diagnostics.
