Biography

Mr Hacker first obtained Electrical Engineering and Applied Science qualifications at the University of Central Queensland. After which he started working in the UCQ Physics Department as a Demonstrator, Tutor, and Sessional Lecturer.

Mr Hacker then obtained a position with Griffith University - Gold Coast, as a Lecturer within the School of Engineering. He then went on to completed a Graduate Diploma in Medical Physics at the Queensland University of Technology. Then completed an MPhil at Griffith University, researching the area of Computer Based teaching of Electronics. His teaching areas include Analogue and Digital Electronics, Microprocessors, Physics, and Computing.

Research expertise

Mr Hacker has a major expertise in computer process automation. This incorporates the design of electronic hardware and development of controlling software to interface computer systems to mechanical/process devices. Along with this, he has expertise in Data Acquisition, Data Collection, and Human-Computer software interaction.

Mr Hacker also has expertise in designing and programming of educational software. This involves development of: demonstration software, testing software, simulation software, and educational game programming. Software has been developed for teaching Electronics, Physics, and Mathematics.

Mr Hacker has maintained an interest in nuclear medicine, incorporating radiation safety and medical diagnostic systems. He has developed medical physics software applications, medical isotope database programs, and data collection and interfacing to Medical diagnostic equipment.
