Wireless Printers Installation for Apple

This document provides a step by step guide on installing Griffith University Wireless Student Printing software.

Supported Mac Operating Systems

Versions of Macintosh 10.6.8 and above.

Prerequisites

A: Setup Instructions

Step 1) Download and execute the Apple Installation ver. 2.0 printing software. Software Package

Step 2) Read setup notification.

Step 3) Double click to open printer setup application. Do not copy file to desktop. Close PCounter Client

Step 4) Select campus for installation of printers. Campus Selection

Step 5) Enter local apple laptop administrator username and password. Setup Authentication

Step 6) Click OK button to complete printer setup. Setup Completion

Step 7) When setup is completed, close and (right click) to eject the disk before deleting the application from desktop.

Step 8) Once printers are installed, open system preferences -> printer’s window to verify installed printers. Printer Window

B: Pre-Printing Instructions

Step 1) Ensure that laptop is connected to Griffith Wireless Network. Printing Guide

Step 2) Once job is printed to either Black & White or Colour printer, wait for Pcounter Client Popup dialogue box to appear. Then enter your Griffith sNumber and password.(note: case sensitive)

Refer to troubleshooting guide if popup does not appear.

C: Troubleshooting printing

Step 1) Ensure that laptop is connected to Griffith Wireless Network

Step 2) Ensure that the Pcounter Client application appears on the tray icon.

Step 3) Check print server’s connection status. (Right click Pcounter > Preferences)

Step 4) If connection status appears as above, Right Click Pcounter tray icon and select Close
then restart Pcounter Client from spotlight.
