The sardine city

Held on Wednesday 29 August 2007 at the Irish Club, Brisbane.

The plan is to build density in the inner suburbs, while planning better. How will it work? Where will all the people live? How will the outer suburbs fare? Is the acre block with grass for backyard cricket sustainable in the 21st century?

Planning for the aging of the burbs. Social and physical limitations of the city and preserving greenspace.

Speakers

  • Deputy Mayor David Hinchliffe, Brisbane City Council
  • Jim McKnoulty, Connex Chairman
  • Raynuha Sinnathamby, Deputy Managing Director, Springfield Land Corp
  • Mary Maher, Immediate Past President, West End Community Association
