The Register of Approved Procedures
The University has introduced a mechanism where researchers or centres / schools can register a standard data collection tool (eg a standard questionnaire), a standard procedure (eg a recruitment mechanism routinely used) or the response to a common ethical issue (the participation of First Year University students in research).
Even though a project that will involve a registered procedure will still require ethical review, the applicant will simply be able to indicate that the procedure will be conducted as per the Register. The HREC should then only review the context-specific issues in relation to the use of the registered procedure, not the details of the procedure.
For further information about these arrangements, refer to Booklet 11 of the Griffith University Research Ethics Manual.
To apply to have an item listed in the Register, download, complete and submit the application form.
