Getting to Griffith University

 

With five campuses, over 25,000 students and 3,000 full time and casual staff, the need for transportation is high. That need can either be met primarily through the use of cars or through public transport and alternative modes of transportation. Too much car use contributes to traffic congestion, high infrastructure costs, and pollution and studies show that sitting in traffic can impact upon your health. For more information visit www.deh.gov.au/

At Griffith, we are striving to increase the convenience for commuters to use alternative modes of transportation so we can preserve our native surroundings from being paved over and prevent our roads from becoming overly congested.

A group of University staff members have formed the bus club with members united by a common bus route, sense of humour and friendship. The following article appeared in the City News in Dec 05: Bus Club article(pdf)
