Linda O'Brien was appointed as Pro Vice Chancellor (Information Services) at Griffith University in October 2008. Previous to this she was Vice Principal (Information) at the University of Melbourne. She has also worked at the University of Newcastle, the University of Canberra, James Cook University and the University of Sydney.
Linda has substantial experience in leading the development of university information strategy and in the delivery of information services to support research, teaching and learning and administrative practice. She has delivered numerous conference papers and published in areas such as e-research, e-learning and information management.
External duties have included directorship of a number of boards, most recently the Victorian Partnership for Advanced Computing and CAVAL; participation in national initiatives, including membership of the NCRIS Platforms for Collaboration Expert Advisory Group and founding faculty member of the EDUCAUSE-CAUDIT Management Institute.
