Surveys

The Office of Quality, Planning and Statistics has four main roles in relation to surveys at Griffith:

Survey Management
Quality Planning and Statistics is responsible for management of the Australian Graduate Survey in achieving a representative response rate of Griffith graduates and adhering with the guidelines for conduct of the survey and submission of the final data file as prescribed by Graduate Careers Australia.
Survey Analysis and Reporting
Quality Planning and Statistics is responsible for the analysis and reporting of results from the Australian Graduate Survey on an annual basis and a variety of other surveys on a project or ad-hoc basis.
Survey Assistance
Quality Planning and Statistics has assisted with obtaining appropriate population samples, survey design and analysis for a variety of internal and external surveys.
Survey Co-ordination
In 2007 Quality Planning and Statistics will be moving towards coordinating surveys across the University that are not associated with research with a view to reducing survey fatigue, producing a schedule of surveys that have/will be undertaken, endeavouring to inform University staff of steps that should be undertaken prior to conducting a survey and obtaining information from areas on actions that have been undertaken as a result of surveys conducted. The latter will be used to inform students, ie. ‘closing the loop’, as there is strong evidence to suggest that students are much more likely to respond to a survey when they believe actions will be taken as a result of their input.
