AUQA 2008 audit

Final Report

Griffith University has received 11 commendations in its latest report from the Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA), in particular being praised for the  Griffith 2015 strategy, its engagement with the broader community in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and development of the Gold Coast campus.

Griffith University Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Ian O’Connor welcomed the AUQA report that has acknowledged the hard work and significant achievements of the University.  In all, there were 11 commendations, 11 affirmations and 8 recommendations.

The AUQA panel focussed particularly on two themes: Supporting Student Success and International Activities in the Cycle 2 report.  It also commented on progress since the Cycle 1 Report completed in 2003.

Griffith was commended for:

  • improving our quality systems, and our explicitly benchmarked approach to planning and quality assurance
  • early identification of students at risk and methods for improving undergraduate retention
  • maintaining the successful Uni-Reach program 
  • its Disability Support Services
  • the Succeeding@Griffith program for first year undergraduate students
  • the adoption of an evidence-based approach to academic integrity underpinned by research literature and practice; and
  • the work of the School of Nursing and Midwifery for their transnational education programs in Singapore and Japan.
