AUQA 2003 audit
Progress Report
The first cycle of audits commenced in 2002. The Griffith AUQA audit cycle 1 was conducted in 2003 and the AUQA audit report was released on the 21st April 2004.
The AUQA audit report commended Griffith University for teaching and research outcomes, the quality of its learning environment, its responsiveness to student issues, and Griffith's strong external relationships.
The AUQA audit report also made 16 recommendations advising the University to continue to benchmark, to embed quality management systems, and to integrate programs across its five campuses in South-East Queensland. A vast number of the recommendations have been implemented. Progress on these recommendations was last reported to AUQA in October 2005.
During Cycle 2, the panel will use a sampling process to verify that areas of commendation continue, are strengthened, and/or are shared across the organisation. The Cycle 2 panel will seek evidence that actions arising from the recommendations and commendations in the Cycle 1 progress report have had an impact on organisational performance.

Performance Portfolio
The Griffith University Quality Performance Portfolio was lodged with the AUQA as part of the preparation for the audit that occurred on 20-24 October 2003.
The Performance Portfolio summarised the outcomes of the University's self-review, and describes the way in which the University's policies and processes support the strategic aims of the University and assure quality outcomes. The Portfolio highlights our strengths. It also identifies areas of weakness and commits the University to improvement actions to address these weaknesses.
Together with the Portfolio, the auditors received 50 documents of supporting material (see Appendix P, List of Supporting Materials).
