What is a University? Your success as a new student will depend partly on your understanding of 'academic culture'. How are things done at University? What is important or valued? Your approach to study, and your working relationships with other students and staff, needs to be underpinned by an appreciation of core scholarly values and ethical principles. These include academic integrity, collegiality, independence and self-management, critical thinking and a spirit of inquiry.
Think about your expectations of University. Why are you going to university? What do you hope to get out of it? Consider yourself as a 'student citizen' of the University - someone who is an active partner in and contributor to the Griffith learning community. Dynamic learning communities are built on respectful and engaged relationships between members. We invite you to be a positive contributor to the Griffith Experience!
