- What's it like to study at University?
- When you enter University, you are moving to a new learning environment. You'll need to know what's expected of you in the student role and have some basic mastery of academic skills. The skills you develop as a student are valuable not only while studying at University but also in the job market.
Awareness of your current skills increases your confidence, which in turn increases your chances of success. We encourage you to think about the skills that you already have and those that you may need to develop in order to get prepared academically.
Remember, University is different. All students, regardless of cultural or educational background, will experience some form of adjustment to this new environment. It may all sound a bit challenging, but most students enjoy the journey and the chance to study the subjects they are really interested in. A little preparation before you start repays itself many times over and makes your University experience easier.
