Young Conductors Project
Leading an ensemble in a vibrant and exciting performance is one of the most satisfying experiences a musician can have. We offer our young musicians a chance to investigate what it means to be a conductor with the Young Conservatorium Wind Orchestra.
- When
- Once or twice a semester
- Cost
- No fee
- Entry
- Members of Young Conservatorium Wind Orchestra on application to the Head of Pre-Tertiary Studies
Young Conservatorium Buddy Project
Young Conservatorium is about growing as a person as much as it is about individual musical development. The Buddy Project allows members of Young Conservatorium senior ensembles to assist in short mentoring activities with less experienced members. We have found that often the learning experience is a two way street.
- When
- Once or twice a semester
- Cost
- No fee
- Entry
- Members of Young Conservatorium Wind Orchestra on application to the Head of Pre-Tertiary Studies
Queensland Conservatorium Buddy Project
As with the Young Conservatorium Buddy Project this program is designed to allow for the advanced skills and musicianship of Queensland Convseratorium students (may of whom are former Young Conservatorium members) to mentor within the ensemble program of the Young Conservatorium. Working in partnership with the ensemble conductors tertiary students will join rehearsals, present sectional rehearsals, oversee workshops and work broadly to enhance the ensemble offerings of Young Conservatorium.
Saturday Symposium
Young musicians have ideas and ideals which need discussion and sometimes direction. The Saturday Symposium has been developed to give voice to those ideas and to preset a variety of opinion, experience and information which the young musician will be able to utilise to guide their decision making in the future.
- When
- Once or twice a semester at 1pm
- Cost
- No fee for students of Young Conservatorium
- Entry
- Young musicians in grade 10 - 12 (and teachers also).
