The Conservatorium Theatre is an ideal venue for a variety of performances, corporate events and conferences.
Four modes of presentation are available
- Concert mode (sound shell forward, timber floor)
- Lyric mode (sound shell back, black floor)
- Reverse mode (sound shell back, seating on stage)
- Cinema mode (sound shell forward, add screen and sound system)
Events held in the Conservatorium Theatre have included political party launches, large corporate meetings and product launches (concert mode); opera and drama productions (lyric mode); formal dinners seating up to 140 people on stage (reverse mode); film screenings and a major film school launch (cinema mode).

Acoustics
An eighty-tonne moveable sound shell works as a sound reflector for the concert mode and the acoustic curtains and small doors on the shell allow for acoustic variation. Adjustable panels on the auditorium walls further add to the venue's acoustic flexibility.
