Open Conservatorium

Open Conservatorium is the community gateway to the Queensland Conservatorium. Launched in 2009, the Open Conservatorium provides a wide range of learning opportunities throughout the year, from adult beginner classes through to professional development activity for instrumental, choral, classroom and studio music teachers.

Through Open Conservatorium, the community has access to quality artists from the Queensland Conservatorium Performers Agency. Queensland’s music students and teachers can access a wide range of pre-tertiary activities such Young Conservatorium, State Honours Ensemble Program, Tertiary Preparation Workshop and Rock School. Open Conservatorium’s Southern Cross International Music Festival is a cultural exchange program where school students and ensembles from other countries in the Asia-Pacific region collaborate in music-making with their Queensland counterparts and community based performing groups.
