Learn to create experimental digital instruments with physical sensors. This two day workshop will cover the basics of turning physical gestures into sound using an Arduino microcontroller and the PureData sound manipulation environment.

This program is a joint initiative of the University of Newcastle Conservatorium of Music and Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University.

The workshop will be held in Newcastle in conjunction with the Electrofringe festival (www.electrofringe.net). The workshop will run on the first two days of the festival, and will culminate in a peformance at Electrofringe. Participants will be able to demonstrate their creations at the Digital Freestyle concert on Saturday 31st September at the Festival Club.

Cost:

$250.00 (includes workshop kit - Arduino board and sensors)

Requirements:

It is recommended to bring a laptop computer, but not essential. Headphones are also recommended.
