First Year Advisors
The role of First Year Advisors has been established for all undergraduate programs to assist commencing students in their transition to University, as part of the broader responsibility taken for this, at the School and Faculty level.
The primary role of First Year Advisors is to coordinate the academic orientation of commencing students and assist them to put their education in context, become informed participants in their university education, understand and navigate the systems at Griffith, become part of the community, and make adequate preparations for graduation and future careers either through the provision of advice or through referral to other University services or campus resources. The role is to support students to take responsibility for their own curriculum and career decisions by providing experiences of self-managed learning.

Program Convenors/Directors
The Program Convenor is responsible to the Faculty Board for ensuring that the program, as approved by the Academic Committee and published in the Program Catalogue, is the learning experience provided to students. The Program Convenor is responsible for ensuring the program of study is coherent in its design, planning, management, delivery and assessment.

Course Convenors
The Course Convenor is responsible to the Program Convenor and the Head of School for the management, conduct, teaching and assessment of a course. The Course Convenor should ensure that the course is:
- conducted in a manner that is consistent with the approved Course Outline,
- conducted within the resources that are available,
- reviewed after every offering
- modified, if appropriate, in response to its routine evaluation, and
- conducted in accordance with University policies, particularly the Assessment Policy;
in order that all students may have an effective learning experience and an equal opportunity to learn.

Secretariat
The Secretariat provides:
- academic policy and program planning advice
- support for the learning and teaching portfolio

The Office of Quality, Planning and Statistics
The Office of Quality, Planning and Statistics contributes to the achievement of the University’s goals through:
- Managing the collection, analyses and reporting of institutional performance information to internal and external stakeholders
- Conducting organisational review and improvement processes
- Coordinating student and other surveying activities, including conducting the Graduate Destination Survey and other student surveys
- Supporting the University’s Executive Group in its strategic, operational and other planning activities
- Coordinating quality assurance and management processes

Information Services

Flexible Learning and Access Services
Selects, acquires, creates and provides access to information and educational resources which support the teaching, learning and research needs of the university.Products and services include:

- Production, distribution and digitisation of print based resources

Learning and Teaching Systems
Including Learning@Griffith and the Library Catalogue. Learning@Griffith is Griffith University's online teaching and learning environment. It supports the development, management, and delivery of web based learning. Learning@Griffith provides a web presence for all Griffith courses.

Learning Services
Provides a range of free workshops, consultations and self-help resources to for undergraduates, postgraduates and staff, to succeed at university and beyond.

Audiovisual Services
Services to support teaching include:
- provision and support of audiovisual equipment in lecture theatres, seminar rooms and meeting rooms on all campuses.
- provision and support of videoconference facilities in selected lecture theatres and seminar rooms on all campuses.
- classroom capture services (to be rolled out in 2008)

Off-Campus and Assignment Handling Services
These services include:
- handling of print assignments (receipting, collating, delivery to academic elements, return to students).
- electronic assignment submission for student convenience – Remote Assignment Printing
- text matching service to facilitate plagiarism prevention and detection (gradual rollout in 2008).
