Evaluation

The University is committed to excellence in student-centred learning. To achieve this, Griffith has established policies and processes to effectively manage its learning and teaching activities and contribute towards excellent student learning outcomes. The focus of evaluation is on:

  • those factors in the University context that affect the quality of teaching and learning, such as University facilities, educational resources, campus climates, student interaction with University administration.

The key policies relating to the evaluation of teaching and learning are:

Faculty boards provide advice to the University on student evaluation of teaching and student evaluation of courses.  It is likely that, with some changes to its constitution, that Programs Committee will soon assume responsibility for reviewing programs within its scope, and overseeing the evaluation policies relating to teaching and courses.

The  Office of Quality, Planning and Statistics manages the data warehouse, the centralised data repository to provide improved data management. Information on the evaluation of teaching and courses will be included in the data warehouse. Quality, Planning and Statistics staff are available to assist in the interpretation of results obtained from teaching and course surveys.

The Griffith Institute for Higher Education provides professional development for the improvement of teaching.
