Students identify 2011's excellent teachers

Griffith University takes the quality of learning and teaching very seriously. We closely monitor student evaluations of teaching and courses and the student nominations for teaching awards so we can identify and acknowledge our excellent teachers.

From student feedback data during 2011, we have identified staff members who received:

• student evaluations of their teaching in the top 10% (using the overall satisfaction item) in two or more courses, either in the same semester or in consecutive semesters in 2011, or
• both a top SET evaluation and a very high response from student nominations for awards.

The top 10% of SET and student nominations were calculated taking into account size of class. The SETs for each class had to have a good response rate relative to its size.

Our students have identified the following as our excellent teachers for 2011.
