The University encourages academic staff to maintain and extend their knowledge and skills so that they can realise their full potential as teachers and thereby contribute to the University's objectives for learning and teaching.
One University strategy to encourage academic staff to maintain or extend their teaching skills is by providing financial support for staff enrolled in either the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education or Master of Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.
Teaching Bursaries are for the specific purpose of providing teaching relief during the course of study and will be paid to the appropriate School at the end of the semester. Continuation of the Teaching Bursary will be subject to satisfactory program progress.
Bursary applications are considered by the Educational Excellence Committee and the Learning and Teaching Committee at the commencement of each semester and the bursary scheme is managed by the Griffith Institute for Higher Education.
