2012 Guide: How To Accept Your Offer from GriffithWhen you receive your offer letter from Griffith University, read it carefully and check that all of the personal details, such as your name, date of birth, plus your program of study and duration are correct. To assist you with this process you can download a copy of 2012 Guide to Accepting your Griffith Offer.

If successful you will receive either

  • an unconditional offer, or
  • a conditional offer

If you receive a conditional offer, this means that you need to provide further information or you need to meet some conditions before you can be accepted.

Some common offer conditions include:

  1. Academic conditions - completion of your current studies or the obtaining of certain grades. To show that these conditions have been met you will need to send the university certified copies of official certificates from the institution. It should state that you have completed the program or qualification. (A certified copy is a photocopy of an original document with an official stamp signature of a person approved to certify documents - e.g. an official agent, a Justice of the Peace, a university registrar, a police officer, an examining authority)
  2. English Language Proficiency requirements –you must provide certified copies of your IELTS or TOEFL results to the International Office before acceptance. The test must be no more than 2 years old at the date of your application. DIAC will only accept IELTS scores from applicants from level 3-4 countries. Check with DIAC's immigration site for more information

How to accept your Griffith Offer

Read the Acceptance form (written agreement) and Refund policy carefully.
Send the following to the University:

  1. A completed and signed acceptance form
  2. Certified copies of any documents or information that has been requested by the university in the Letter of Offer (e.g. Academic transcripts, IELTS or TOEFL documents)
  3. A Notice of Pre-Visa Assessment - this is for citizens of countries in assessment levels 3-5 ONLY. (Check with your agent or nearest Australian consulate, Embassy or High Commission. Please Note that it can take between 6-16 weeks to obtain.)
  4. A completed and signed International Under 18 Agreement (PDF110k) - if applicable.
  5. A Letter of Release, if transferring from another Australian institution Contact your current institution for a copy of this letter
  6. Request for disability support (if required). For information on the documentation required and services available, visit Student Services  'Equity'
Please Note:
  • If you are under 18 years of age, the International Under 18 Agreement application form must be completed in full by both you and your legal guardian. 
  • Griffith University will accept responsibility for the care and welfare of a student who is at least 17 years of age, if agreed by the parent or legal guardian and the student is staying in Griffith approved homestay accommodation. 
  • If you are over the age of 17 years and have elected to stay in Griffith Approved Homestay and are not being cared for by your parent or legal guardian, you will need a letter of Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation / Welfare Arrangements (CAAW) as required for your student visa application, which will be provided to you with your COE.
