We look forward to personally welcoming you to Griffith University!
Our Introductory Academic Program assists AusAID students in making a successful transition to life and study in Australia, at Griffith University. It is a compulsory program commencing in January (Semester 1) and/or June (Semester 2) each year.
Our course includes information on:
- Living in Australia (opening a bank account, long-term accommodation, university facilities, your local area and public transport services)
- Preparing to meet the academic demands of your studies (postgraduate, undergraduate or research)
- Australian culture and cultural adjustment
The program is delivered by a highly qualified and experienced team of learning advisers, librarians, computer training specialists and staff from Griffith International. Your AusAID Liaison Officer is also available to provide you with assistance and support.
The IAP is held on Nathan Campus each semester and you will be required to attend all sessions regardless of which campus your degree program will be held on. If your degree program is at the Gold Coast, South Bank or Logan campuses, the University can arrange temporary accommodation at Nathan Campus for the duration of the IAP. You may then relocate to long-term accommodation near your home campus on completion of the IAP.
