Optimal habitat conditions (climate-soils) in now rare residual lowland rainforest massifs in North Queensland. Showing high degree of diversity/complexity of life forms and structure accompanying high species diversity, e.g. (on left) plank buttress, trunk epiphytes; with palm lianes, relatively large leaf sizes, dense understorey, and diffuse vertical "stratification" of trees which continues upwards to ca. 30-40 metres in height.
