The cassowary is an effective seed dispersal agent for a wide range of seeds in North Queensland rainforests. As well as large seeded Lauraceae (in this picture) they spread small seeds, e.g. Fenslia obtusa (Mytaceae) and Gahnia spp. (Cyperaceae).
