Many farms cleared in the "Maalan Scrub" in the 1950s soon reverted to weed infested unproductive landscapes, especially those on steep slopes and acid volcanic soils.
Complex notophyll vine forest on basaltic red loams on wet uplands, ca. 1000 metres.
