Stage of regeneration or "succession", following wildfires under "natural" conditions, or logging, can be inferred from the floristic composition of the understorey of mixed communities with sclerophyll (typically eucalypt) emergents and both sclerophylls (numerous genera) and rainforest species, given reliable dating of disturbance at particular sites.
