Cataloguing-in-Publication (CiP) Advice

From the National Library of Australia's Cataloguing-in-Publication page:

Cataloguing in Publication is a free service offered by the National Library of Australia. It involves the preparation of a cataloguing entry for a book before the book is published. This CiP entry, which is derived from information supplied to the CiP Unit by publishers, appears in the printed book.

Elements at Griffith University who are publishing may send a CiP application form to the National Library with details of the forthcoming title. The National Library will prepare a CiP entry from these details and send it by fax or priority paid mail to the publisher. It is then printed in the book, usually on the back of the Title Page.

Visit the National Library's CiP page for more information and an online application form.
