Curriculum Collection
Curriculum collections are available in the Gold Coast, Logan and Mount Gravatt libraries.
The purpose of these collections is to support the study of curriculum development and design
by providing a range of materials that can be used as classroom teaching resources.
The collections contain a range of classroom materials of different formats:
- audiovisual material: videos, slides, sound cassettes
- books used by teachers to prepare lessons ("recipe books")
- big books
- charts, pictures, maps
- craft books
- educational computer software and multimedia
- fiction, from early childhood to young adult level
- games, puppets and toys
- models and realia, e.g. fossils, musical instruments
- non-fiction
- poetry and plays
- song books
- textbooks for in-school use from kindergarten through secondary school
- textbook series in levels, e.g. reading, mathematics, science and social
studies schemes
The following materials are specifically excluded from the collections:
- books associated with teacher education, teaching theory or curriculum theory
- examination papers
- textbooks used as recommended readings for tertiary-level courses
