Administration support for Information services staff

There are a range of services and facilities provided by the University that are used by Information Services staff on a regular basis. We have collated the contact details and procedures associated with the most commonly used of these services in the Administration Reference Guide.

Planning and Financial Services provide a range of services to the University commmunity including budgeting and resource management, financial and tax accounting, investment and treasury management and a range of business services such as purchasing, travel, insurance and risk management, stores, mail and transport.

The Corporate Resource Management team within Planning and Financial Services are responsible for providing resource management services to administrative elements of the University including Information Services. Specific services include assistance with business planning, budgeting, reporting, financial modelling, costing and analysis.

The Information Services Health and Safety team provides advice on health and safety matters relating to Information Services operations, facilitates compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and implementation of Griffith policy and procedures.

Specific services include assistance with inspections, risk assessments, inductions, training, incident reporting, first aid and emergency planning.

The careers and employment service offers a wide range of job search and career development services for students and graduates. Staff seeking job search assistance are welcome to attend job search seminars conducted on a regular basis. These are advertised on the careers and employment service intranet site.

The Office of Human Resource Management supports the ongoing training and development of staff through various programs and courses offered throughout the year, usually free of charge. A wide variety of courses exist to assist staff to develop both personally and professionally, ranging from time management and interview performance courses to an extensive program designed to support and develop management and leadership skills.
