The IAP takes place primarily in a real world workplace. It is designed to bridge the gap between being a student and entering the workplace. As a component of a degree program, the IAP offers you the opportunity to practice the skills of your profession and gain experience working on a project in a work environment.

During the IAP you are focused on a substantial project that consists of a series of planned experiences with clearly defined goals and pre-determined assessment strategies. This allows you to contribute and learn within an organisation, growing your skills as a professional.

The best insight into your career with all the support you need. - Justin Kirkman, Environmental Engineering student

The program is managed and supervised by Griffith University, and is highly structured to assist you in meeting milestones, delivering the outcomes required by the industry partner and succeeding academically. The outcomes you produce for industry are assessed as part of the IAP University course.

At the conclusion of the IAP course it is anticipated that you will have learned a range of new discipline-specific professional skills, a broad range of generic skills, and will have gained the necessary confidence in your discipline abilities to confidently face your professional career.
