Indigenous Studies at Griffith will provide you with an awareness of the ways in which cultural differences contribute to an understanding of the tensions produced by the historical relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. You will learn both Indigenous and non-indigenous perspectives, and attain the necessary skills to navigate the assumptions embedded within ideas relevant to a range of professional environments.
Our programs and courses provide opportunities to theoretically explore the historical, cultural and political relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. You will survey the themes and ideas that influence the structural characteristics of the political, social and economic aspects of this relationship in both historical and contemporary contexts.
