- The inaugural Griffith University Chinese Language Speech Competition was held on April 24 in the newly renovated Campus Heart at Nathan. Attendees and on lookers were treated to a rich feast of music, martial arts and linguistic entertainment courtesy of the students participating in the event. The competition is the brain child of Lecturer in Chinese, Mr Paul Rackermann and was co-sponsored by the Griffith Chinese Cultural Association, Student Linx and the School of Languages and Linguistics. - The Arts, Education & Law Alumni Awards return for 2012. The Alumni Awards recognise the outstanding achievements and successes of our alumni. There are eight awards, one for each AEL element in the Group and from those eight recipients one overall Alumnus of the Year is chosen. There is also an award for Young Alumnus of the Year. - The Australian National Corpus was launched at Griffith University's Southbank Campus by Professor Kate Burridge (Monash University) on 26 March. The launch was featured on the Radio National program Lingua Franca, to listen to the episode click here.
