Studying creative writing at Griffith is a vibrant, collaborative and inspirational experience.

Our exciting program is widely acknowledged and our graduates go on to publish, to further study and to win or be shortlisted for major prizes. Creative writing is for those who might aspire to be writers, and those who want to enhance their writing communication skills for other professions.

Library

Prestigious awards won by graduates include the Commonwealth Writers Prize, the Queensland Premier's Prize, the Queensland State Library Award and others.

With an active and lively literary culture at Griffith, you will be encouraged to take risks with your work, participate in extra-curricular writers' groups, as well as readings and recognised writers' festivals.

Each year the School of Humanities releases, Talent Implied - New Writing from Griffith, an anthology of creative writing written, edited and produced by students. The Small Room Writers Collective, an extra curricular creative writing group stage regular events on and off campus and represent the university at national writers festivals.
