Health and Safety Contacts

H&S Specialists

Specialist Health & Safety Practitioners are located in the Office of Human Resource Management (Strategic Health &Safety), the SEET Group (Health & Safety Operational Unit), Campus Life and Division of Information Services.

Element WHSOs & Local H&S Contacts

Workplace Health and Safety Officers have completed a seven day government accredited training course.

Local Health and Safety Contacts have completed basic training in health and safety. They are the local point of contact for health and safety issues, and may assist with local inductions, inspections, incident investigations and risk assessments. They may refer issues to a Workplace Health and Safety Officer or Health and Safety Specialist.

Representatives from academic and general staff are elected every two years to the University Health and Safety Committee. This committee functions as per health and safety legislative requirements and meets quarterly.

Harassment Contact Officers

Harassment and Discrimination Contact Officers provide information and assistance to those experiencing harassment and discrimination.

First Aid Officers

First Aid Officers provide first aid assistance in emergencies in accordance with their training and qualifications, normally senior First Aid Certificate.
