International Student Conference in Tourism Research, Austria 2014
Griffith Global Mobility and the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems are calling for student papers and participation in the 2nd International Student Conference in Tourism Research, 5-6 May 2014 - Austria. The annual conference, which is jointly organised by the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems and the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, will take place alternatively at the locations Salzburg and Krems. The conference chairs are Prof. (FH) Dr. Roman Egger (Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, Austria) and Prof. (FH) Mag. Christian Maurer (University of Applied Sciences Krems, Austria).
The target audiences include international students, graduates, teachers and lecturers from the field of tourism and leisure management as well as companies and anyone interested in the conference topic areas. Research papers are invited from the widest spectrum of the following areas within a tourism context:
- Marketing & Management
- Tourism Product Development & Sustainability
- Information and Communication Technologies
Submitted papers must be based on approved Bachelor- or Master-Theses which were submitted between 2011 and 2013, or papers written and approved in Master-Classes (also between 2011 and 2013), or work-in-progress papers of PhD students. All papers will be double-blind peer reviewed by an international Scientific Committee. Accepted papers have to be presented at the conference and will be included in the printed conference proceedings.
Scholarship value and duration
Griffith Global Mobility will provide scholarships of up to $250 for each student to participate in the conference. If any HDR students wish to attend and stay on at Krems for a period of greater than two weeks they may be considered for one of the following scholarships instead. Krems are happy to host Griffith University HDR students to conduct a portion of their research (provided the resources can be assigned and an-site/external supervisor can be identified).
- 2 to 8 weeks:$1,500
- 9 to 15 weeks: $3,000

To apply for the conference scholarship, complete the Griffith Global Mobility short term program registration procedure and form, once you have been accepted to present or have registered to attend
For HDR students who wish to apply for the higher amounts, contact your Principal Supervisor at Griffith University for permission to undertake some of your research at Krems. You should also contact Shelly Maller, Global Mobility Coordinator at email@example.com for the contact details of the International Office at Krems and then complete the Griffith Global Mobility short term program registration procedure and form.
All students will need to have their Program Convenor/Principal Supervisor sign off on section 5 of the registration form to indicate that they have support from their host school at Griffith University to attend.
