Griffith University’s internationally renowned research scholarships program for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students provides funding for more than 700 research scholarships annually with over 250 new research scholarships being awarded each year.

The University's research strengths range from the creative arts, social sciences, education, and humanities to science, engineering, health and medical research, and scholarships are available across this range of discipline areas.

Research scholarship application rounds

Griffith University's mid-year research scholarship round has now closed. The end-of-year research scholarship round will open for applications on Monday 16 July, 2012.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) scholarships available now

In addition to living allowance and tuition fee scholarships available in the mid- and end-of-year rounds, a range of discipline-specific scholarships are also often available. Following is a selection such scholarships that are currently open for application:

  • Application of Artificial Neural Network in Flood Emergency Decision Support System Scholarship (applications close 20 May, 2012) New!
  • Biochar and Greenhouse Gas Emission Research Scholarship (applications close 15 May, 2012) New!
  • Police Use of Force Living Allowance Research Scholarship (applications will remain open until the scholarship is filled)
  • Evolutionary Topics Research Scholarship in the Australian Rivers Institute (applications will remain open until the scholarship is filled)
  • Regenerative Injection Therapies for Tendiopathy Research Scholarship (applications will remain open until the scholarship is filled) New!
  • Kearney Law Associateships (includes doctoral research funding) (applications are open all year round)
