Smoke less study 2009

Implementing a Health Promotion Project – Smoking Less Campaign: A Comprehensive Setting - Based Intervention on Smoking at Mt Gravatt Campus, Griffith University.

Mt Gravatt Campus, Semester 2, 2009

An initiative of The Griffith University Health Promoting Campus Project Team - Improving the health of you and your campus community.

This project aims to identify the factors which may contribute to people’s smoking and seek people’s opinion on a smoke-free policy and healthy environment development issues. The project will also include trialling intervention activities and practical measures which may help us to ensure a clean and healthy learning and teaching environment for all members of the campus community.

Smoke-free Campus

As part of this project, from Week 7 (Monday 7 September), Mt Gravatt Campus will be Smoke-free.

This means that nominated areas for smoking will be established on campus. If you are a smoker, you will be asked to only smoke in the nominated areas (PDF 70k).

Week 7 is the Smoke-less Campus Campaign Week

This week will be about

  • Raising awareness
  • Promoting the nominated smoking areas
  • Offering health service support
