Research expertise
- Dr Ownsworth is a clinical neuropsychologist with over 10 years clinical experience and research in the field.
- Broad research interests include rehabilitation and psychological adjustment to neurological disorders such as traumatic brain injury, stroke, and brain tumour.
- A specific research interest is metacognition (i.e., self-awareness and self-regulation skills) following acquired brain injury and clinical trials of community-based metacognitive rehabilitation.

- Investigating determinants of successful outcome during the hospital to home transition following brain injury.
- Assessing the supportive care needs and quality of life of individuals with brain tumour.
- Developing and validating a tool to monitor therapy progress in post-acute rehabilitation.
Current teaching areas
- Dr Ownsworth mainly teaches in the area of neuropsychology (i.e., brain-behaviour relationships, neurological disorders, and rehabilitation) and clinical assessment at honours and postgraduate level.
- She also teaches foundations of clinical psychology and neuropsychology in various courses across the years of the undergraduate program.
- Dr Ownsworth supervises research projects at honours level and as a consultant in the Neuropsychology Clinic she supervises postgraduate students on externship placements.
