Research expertise

  • Amanda's research interests lie in the areas of social and developmental psychology
  • Presently, her research focuses on children's inter-group attitudes and behaviour, with a particular focus on bullying in schools
  • Previous research has highlighted the individual characteristics of bullies and victims in an attempt to explain the phenomenon, Amanda's research explores the peer group's role in the problem
  • Amanda is also interested in the effects of peer relations on children's adjustment

Current teaching areas

  • Amanda teaches individual and social psychology at an undergraduate level
  • Previously taught undergraduate courses focusing on research design and statistics
  • Supervises Honours research projects that are social-developmental in nature
