Research expertise

  • Industrial/Organisational Psychologist with specific interests in the application of psychological assessment to areas such as personnel selection.
  • Methodological areas such as power analysis and utility analysis.

Current teaching areas

  • Brett is Director of Organisational Training and takes overall responsibility for postgraduate programs in Organisational Psychology offered by the School. As such he is the default convenor for research and practicum courses as well as convening specific courses in his area of interest such as The Employment Lifecycle and Psychological Assessment.
  • Within the undergraduate program, Brett convenes senior level courses in research methods and supervises honours students from a wide range of interests.
  • Honours topics that Brett has recently supervised include: The effectiveness of online training, The nature of academic procrastination, Applications of O*NET in the Australian context, Why people enjoy watching horror movies, and What motivates people to eat out of garbage bins.
