Why study exercise science?

Basketball coachingWith increased levels of concern throughout the community about health issues such as obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes, more emphasis is being placed on the importance of fitting daily exercise into people's lifestyle. As a result the demand for skilled exercise science professionals in the field of health maintenance, rehabilitation and related areas is currently strong.

Our undergraduate programs include the Bachelor of Exercise Science (Pre physiotherapy), Bachelor of Exercise Science, (including combined degrees in Business, Psychological Science or Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) with exercise science), and an Honours degree.

We also offer a Graduate Certificate (coursework), Masters (coursework or research) and Doctoral level programs.

Why study physiotherapy?

The study of physiotherapy will provide you with the knowledge to emerge as a health practitioner with expertise for prevention advice and 'hands-on' safe treatment strategies. There is a broad range of employment opportunities for students qualified in this field. As a graduate, you will be registered to practise as a physiotherapist in all states and territories of Australia and New Zealand.

We offer two distinct 'pathways' to the Master of Physiotherapy (due to commence in 2012). The Bachelor of Exercise Science (Pre Physiotherapy) 'guaranteed entry' (subject to GPA) or the Bachelor of Exercise Science with prescribed courses (equal to 1344 Bachelor of Exercise Science (Pre Physiotherapy)) and admission requirements into the Master of Physiotherapy.
