Biography
I have enjoyed a long and rewarding career in midwifery that spans a quarter of a decade. I have worked in a variety of public and private clinical midwifery settings in NSW and Queensland, including caseload midwifery practice. I have also held a number of midwifery managerial and leadership roles including Midwifery Unit Manager, Midwifery Educator, and Director of Midwifery. In my most recent role of Nursing and Midwifery Director Education I was awarded the title of Clinical Associate Professor in recognition of my intellectual and academic contribution to midwifery and nursing.
My academic experience includes 4 years teaching in the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery Program at Australian Catholic University, where I was also directly involved in curriculum development. I hold a Master of Midwifery (Research) which involved investigating women’s preparation for birth and parenting, for which I was granted the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence.
