Clinical placements are an integral component of the Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Midwifery programs that allows students to link theory to practice in a meaningful way. This website provides you with the information you require to be appropriately prepared for clinical placement.
In addition to our Clinical Placement Policy and Clinical Calendar, you also need to access the following documents located on the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council website
- ANMC National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse
- ANMC Code of Ethics for Nurses in Australia
- ANMC Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses in Australia
- ANMC National Competency Standards for the Midwife
- ANMC Code of Ethics for Midwives in Australia
- ANMC Code of Professional Conduct for Midwives in Australia
Please note: It is your responsibility to ensure you have completed all the mandatory requirements outlined in the Clinical Practicum Policy prior to clinical placement and provide evidence to your respective clinical office. Failure to submit these mandatory requirements prior to placement will result in the delay and possible exclusion from clinical placement.
Just to let you know how impressed I was with the group of 2nd year students that have just completed their 2 week placement ............ They were focused, eager, capable and an absolute joy to work with.
They did themselves and Griffith University proud.
