Bachelor of Nursing (Post-Registration)

Since 2003, the School of Nursing and Midwifery has offered the Bachelor of Nursing (Post-Registration) degree to registered nurses in Singapore and surrounding countries who wish to upgrade their qualifications to a professional degree in nursing. The program is registered with the Ministry of Education and is accredited by the Singapore Nursing Board.

The program adopts a enquiry-based approach and reorients the existing knowledge and experience base of registered nurses towards a more proactive problem solving practice.

The degree program in Singapore is designed for hospital-trained registered nurses, graduates with a Diploma in nursing from Nanyang Polytechnic and Registered Nurses from surrounding countries who are registered with the Singapore Nursing Board. Completion of this program does not automatically lead to registration in Australia.

The program in accordance with University policy is monitored for relevancy, teaching and learning and student progress. Evaluation of the program is an ongoing process and focuses on quantitative and qualitative indicators to signify course and overall program appropriateness. Cultural sensitivity, content, individual course structure, organisation and educational integrity are also subjected to ongoing student evaluation.

School of Nursing and Midwifery academic staff provide two intensive three-day seminar workshops for each of the courses. Students are supported through the remainder of the course by study guides, printed material, on-line access and email contact with the teaching staff.
