Biography
Dr Kasem completed his undergraduate medical degree at Baghdad University College of Medicine, after which he worked as a junior resident physician in Iraq, the United Kingdom and Russia. Kais was awarded a Russian government scholarship to study for Postgraduate Diploma in Pathology at Peoples' Friendship University of Russia in Moscow. He was then appointed as Associate Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine of the same University. He is currently finalising his Doctor of Philosophy project in molecular pathology at Griffith University after being awarded an Australian Government Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship. Kais is also currently a part-time Lecturer and Associate Academic Manager years 3 & 4 with the School of Medicine, Griffith University.
