Biography

Dr Niklaus Aebli completed his PhD in 2002 at the University of Otago, New Zealand on “Cardiovascular Changes during Vertebroplasty in Sheep” and currently holds the position of Department Deputy Head, Orthopaedics and Spinal Surgery, Swiss Paraplegic Centre in Switzerland.

In 2005, Dr Aebli was appointed an Academic Title of Associate Professor with the School of Medicine, Griffith University Australia.

Research interests

  • Treatment and prevention of subacute/chronic back pain with a multidisciplinary approach
  • Mechanical stimulation of mesenchymal stem cells towards condrocytes
  • Orthopaedic problems in patients suffering from para- and tetraplegia
