Biography

Professor Jayasinghe graduated from Sydney University Medical Faculty with First Class Honours and earned MSpM degree from University of New South Wales and a PhD in Cardiology from University of New South Wales. He completed Cardiology training at Westmead Hospital and earned fellowships in Interventional Cardiology from John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle Australia and Beth Israel Hospital New York United States of America.

He currently holds the positions of Professor of Cardiology for Griffith University since 2006 and Director of Cardiology and Cardiac Services at the Gold Coast Hospital since 2006. Founder Co-Director of APIA conferences in Newcastle (2005) and Sydney (2006). He is also the co-inventor of JT percutaneous mitral valve replacement technology and member of the Working Group on Acute Cardiac Care of the European Society for Cardiology.
