Biography

Professor Whitehouse has taught Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Pathology to medical students and honours science students in five Universities across the world.

His research interests cover chemistry of natural products; medical aspects of lipid metabolism; mechanisms of actions of anti-inflammatory, corticosteroid and anti-arthritic agents; biochemistry of chronic inflammation; molecular toxicology relating to side-effects of drugs; and evaluation of herbal/complementary medicines.  

Professor Whitehouse currently holds two Griffith University positions, Honorary Professor of Medicine with the School of Medicine and Adjunct Professor of Biomolecular and Physical Sciences.
