Biography
Prior to becoming a medical practitioner, Associate Professor Liz Reymond had an academic career based at the Research School of Biological Sciences - Australian National University and School of Applied Science at Canberra University. Her academic duties included teaching and supervisory duties for a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate students from a range of disciplines including nursing, health education, medical laboratory science and applied science. She developed undergraduate and postgraduate science units within the School of Applied Science.
Liz's research efforts were primarily involved with the physiological basis of learning and memory and behavioural studies of visual psychophysics. Her research skills include the design and management of randomised controlled trials; evaluation of data from cohort and comparative studies and case series; the development of evidence-based best practice protocols for the management of palliative symptoms; and the enhancement of palliative care service development and delivery within the primary health-care environment.
Liz is familiar with the oral and written presentation of research data and has presented research papers at international and national scientific conferences and published in respected international journals.
